The Original Idea

Since the empty space on the wall is rectangular, I thought of creating a refrigerator that appears to be embedded into the wall. The refrigerator could be filled with food, and when the door opens, the food spills out.

First attempt in C4D

Since the first design didn’t work well, as it had too many elements and lacked a focal point, the idea was revised to feature only a large milk carton inside the refrigerator. When the refrigerator opens, the milk carton tips over, spilling milk out.

New Attempt

The milk spilling out wasn’t surprising enough, so I decided to create something more unexpected. Inspired by Halloween, I designed a ghost emerging from the milk.

Final
Final Version

The refrigerator's appearance was too simple, so in the final version, I added some stickers to its surface. I also included an animation of a sticky note falling off as the door opens. Additionally, I gave the ghost a semi-transparent texture and enhanced the lighting effects to make them more vibrant.

Projection test

On-site projection testing. Above is a photo of the setup. The projector was massive and assembling it was quite troublesome. Adjusting it to the correct angle also took a lot of time. Kelly loaded everyone's work into TouchDesigner and then projected it. The pieces became super large, which was really fun to see.

Final Projection

Final projection results. We prepared from the afternoon until the evening. A lot of people came to watch the event. It was such an exciting day!

Conclusion

This project provided us with a great opportunity to showcase our work. The knowledge we gained, the new experiences, and the exploration process were all invaluable. Throughout the production, I kept thinking about how to achieve the correct perspective and what kind of animation would best engage the audience. In the end, everyone did an amazing job!
